I love photography. I love looking for the light, finding interesting angles, showcasing a feature, and pulling it all together into a finished print. This is my life’s passion.
Photography means, quite literally, to write with light. Photography is a science with light at its core. To understand light, is to understand photography. It’s more than picking up the latest digital camera, pointing and clicking. It’s about painting with light. It’s about understanding how a camera translates a human body into 2D forms and it is about connecting with your subjects on a very personal level. This is why I went to school. I wanted to learn how to do photography properly. I wanted to learn how to light and pose to showcase the human form and show it’s beauty. I could have attempted this before my training, but I knew I could not do justice to the people I would be photographing without the training.
I’ve had a few sessions recently that have defined the power of a photograph even more for me. Young girls who cannot see their own beauty yet. I use light to sculpt their body into a 2D form that showcases the beauty that is before my eyes. When I show them their portrait, I see the difference in how they hold their frame, how much more they enjoy their session, and best of all, I see them realize they are beautiful. It’s been simply put, amazing transformations. I am honoured to be a part of it.
Is your weight or self image keeping you from having your portrait done? Put that fear away. Come and let me show you what good lighting and posing can do. You have heard the old saying “a camera adds ten pounds”, but come and let me show you what a camera can do in the hands of someone who knows why it does. 780.581.5698
