The calender states clearly that it is spring. Mother Nature has not noticed…..or has she? In between snowstorms we have found signs of spring….crocuses, pussy willows, new baby calves running around the farm and birds flying around two by two!
This is my first hometown spring since 1997! So many things are bringing back so many memories! My father watches every year for the first crocuses and then when he finds them, he picks them for my Mom, Grandma, Aunts and even neighbors. He fills his hat full of crocuses, he’s done this for as long as I can remember! This year, I went out to pick crocuses with my children, and started what I hope will be a lifelong tradition with them.

The pussy willows are out in full force. I am fascinated by these furry little things! When I was little, I’d watch for them just like I’d watch for the crocuses. I’d make my little brother climb up the fence to get me a branch or two! This year, they are right across the road at our neighbor’s! Jorah is also fascinated by them. She told me that they reminded her of her Uncle Colin. She stood among them and held them against her face with this soft look on her face! I love this portrait of Jorah!

What are your favorite spring memories???
