Karla asked me to take their family pictures in Kinsmen Park in Edmonton last weekend. Karla and Steven had photographs done of them in this very park when they were the same ages as Karla’s children!
I started with photographs of the boys but Reece, the youngest soon had enough of sitting. He wanted to go and play in the park and had no interest in sitting and posing for me! Brian tried to distract him to no avail, we ended up getting great photos of John, Karla and Adam with Reece’s back as he was taking off out of the portrait! Brian was kept busy catching Reece and bringing him back! In the end, we gave up on the posed portraits and I captured the family playing on the playground!
Kinsmen park is a great background with a beautiful view of Edmonton’s skyline. At the end of the session, we had some fun with some action shots of the Pruden’s in front of this beautiful vista! It was great fun but I think the adults were all more tuckered out at the end of the session than the kids were!!!
I always try to get portraits of Mom and Dad too at a family session because very often, the last time they had a portrait was when they got married!!!
