I can’t stop myself!

My family finds it immensely funny at times, at other times, downright annoying, but sometimes, I just can’t help myself, I have to get the image! “honey, grab the camera” or “oooohhhh, wait, I have to get that image” or Brian will simply just hand me a camera and say “hurry up and get it so we can get going!”!

Do you remember those HP commercials from a couple of years ago? Where they had a person looking out into the world and the world appeared as a bunch of 4×6 pictures? This is how I see the world around me. Every single place I look, I can see an image just waiting to be made. Sometimes, I will see a person that catches my eye, somebody with a unique beauty that stops me and makes me wish I could photograph them. Sometimes, I see a scene that takes my breath away. Sometimes, I see the overall picture but then I’ll get down and get close and find so many more tiny images that make up the whole. Most times, I have got to get the image or I’ll be frustrated.

This is the way it was on our trip home for the holidays. I woke up to what most would consider a “yucky” day. The sky was gray and heavy, it was foggy and it was cold. But I was intrigued by the hoar frost that had coated the entire world around us. I immediately got dressed and headed outside with my camera. I spent the better part of a morning crawling around in the snowbanks looking for images. Here are a few of my favorites:
